Frequently Asked Questions

This is almost always due to **Android's system battery optimizations (Doze Mode)**. To save battery, Android prevents applications from waking up the processor at exact times unless battery rules are turned off.

To resolve this immediately:
  1. Go to Android Settings > Apps > Smart Life Reminder.
  2. Tap Battery or Battery Usage.
  3. Change the restriction option from Optimized to Unrestricted.
  4. Ensure Allow Notifications and Alarms & Reminders permissions are turned on!
We prioritize your absolute privacy. When you turn on cloud backups, the app authenticates with Firebase Auth and syncs directly to a private, hidden folder in your **personal Google Drive account** (using the secure drive.appdata sandbox scope).

This hidden space is completely separated. Smart Life Reminder is **incapable** of reading or editing your documents, photos, or other personal folders in Google Drive, and the developer has zero access to your backup files.
Yes, 100%! Smart Life Reminder is designed as an offline-first utility. Your habits, lists, notes, and reminders are saved locally in a secure, sandboxed SQLite database (powered by Drift) directly on your device.

No internet is required to log habits, check calendar sheets, browse progress timelines, or receive notification alarms. Internet is only accessed if you manually initiate an optional Google Drive backup sync.
Transferring data is easy and secure:

Option A (Google Drive Cloud):
  1. On your old device: Go to Profile > Settings > Backup, and tap Backup Now.
  2. On your new device: Install the app, sign into the **same Google Account** under Settings, and tap Restore Backup.

Option B (Local File Portability):
Go to Profile > Settings > Export Backup File. This downloads a `.db` database archive. Send this archive to your new device (via Email, Bluetooth, etc.), open the app on your new device, go to Settings, and select Import Backup File.
To delete all your local database footprints, open the app, go to Settings, and select Reset All App Data.

To purge any optional cloud backup linkages, you can immediately utilize our automated web portal on the Data Deletion Request Page.
